When evaluating water risks, we start at a high level with an enterprise-wide review of physical water supply risks around the world using the  IPIECA Global Water Tool for oil and gas. Each major operated asset has completed a water risk assessment and, if needed, developed a water action plan. We plot the locations of our operated assets on a Global Water Tool map showing water resources by watershed in 2025 expressed as "projected annual renewable amount of water available per person."

We then take a closer look at potential physical, regulatory and social or reputational water risks, using tools such as the  GEMI Local Water Tool. This information is utilized at global, regional and local levels to prioritize our actions.
